Skatechurchok.com

Have you aver heard something so simple... so basic... that the very story itself was profound?

Larry, the guy who heads-up skatechurchok.com has a mission, a goal, and a story. It's not the kind you'd expect, but that's what makes it so powerful. He's created a skate park for rollerbladers, skateboarders, and any other extreme-sports junkie. Did I mention it's free? What's the catch? Well.. there are three:

1) You must sign (or have parents sign if you are under 18) a waiver. If you get hurt doing some insane stunt... it's not their fault. However, if you land the stunt, you'll get plenty of applause. THey often have a packed house.

2) You must wear a helmet. Doing insane stunts doesn't mean you sacrifice safety. They want you to stick around to come back as often as possible to land those insane stunts.

3) You must attend the bible study.

"WHAT?!" Yeah.. I heard that all the way over here.

But if you're going to ride his insane ramps, bars, grinds, do tricks, listen to his music, and get applause at his place... well, you get the idea. He's put almost everything he has into making Sk8Fusion (the name of his company) the baddest, most tricked-out place to skate, jump, and fly. The least you can do is give a few minutes to hear what he has to say. If not, skip the freebies and keep walking.

Sounds so simple, yet it's amazing. If you ever get a chance to meet Larry, he's quite an interesting person : Low-key and soft-spoken. But if you want to take a ride at his place for free, then sit down and relax. He's got quite a simple story to tell... but it may be the best story you've ever heard.

And for those of you wondering... no. This wasn't a paid advertisement. =) I met Larry recently, and his approach to "church" definately got my attention. They don't have pews. I doubt they have a piano. (Do you Larry??) I know for certain they don't have stained glass and plush carpet.... the boards don't ride smooth on plush carpet.

But what he does have, he gives his all. Larry, sir... My hat is off to you.
